If you haven't already checked out the blog phenomenon known as 'My Charming Kids' you should really do yourself a favor and check it out. I have the privilege of being actual "real life" friends with "McMama" and I can tell you that she is even more amazing, creative, unique and fun in real life as she is on her blog. That being said, I thought I would join in on her "Not Me Monday" invention that is both hilarious and refreshingly therapeutic.
Here is my rendition of "Not Me's" that I committed this past week:
1. I did not get up at 6:30 a.m. this morning and then sit around in my pajamas until 10 a.m. doing "stuff" on my computer and I most certainly did not let my kids play in their pajamas until 10 a.m. because that would have been highly counterproductive to our always highly productive school routine each morning.
2. I did not tell my kids that, "NO!" they could not have a square of chocolate and shew them out the door and then as soon as they were gone, shove 2 chocolate squares in my own mouth before I headed out the door. Not me! That would be very hypocritical!
3. I definitely did not give in this morning when my son asked if he could wear his Vikings shirt... for the second day in a row... and let him retrieve it balled up from the bottom of the dirty clothes hamper... and I definitely did not let him wear it after he scooped it out. dirty. wrinkled. for the second day in a row.
4. I did not bring along fruit/veggie "spray" and a rag to "wash" off all the apples before we ate them at the orchard as we walked along picking- because that would be semi-neurotic.
5. And, speaking of the apple orchard, I most certainly did not find myself in a very precarious situation in the bathroom stall having to be very creative by folding a diaper in half, inside out, and creating a very bulky feminine hygiene product- no way, no way! Because that would have been very embarrassing, desperate, and made for a very "padded" ride in the tractor wagon. (P.S. thank God men don't read this blog!)
Whoa, Nelly- I should stop myself right THERE. Before this thing gets out of hand!

I'm so jealous that you are real life friends with MckMama. I am totally addicted to her blog.
I loved your "Not Me's" ... they were hilarious.
LOL oh my gosh! I am so not laughing at the "creative" diaper thing... That is brilliant!
Okay, I just have to say the diaper thing....BEEN THERE & DONE THAT, and I was amazed at really how comfortable it was. I mean really in the moment desarate times and it turned out okay. LOL
No not me...I didn't allow my daughter to eat chocolate cake with choc icing for breakfast at 5 am...nope, was not I! lol! Let's just say I can identify...
Have you ever seen Bill Cosby's, "Dad is GREAT, He give us the chocolate cake!"...Well, it this case...NO IT WAS not mom! ;)
Enjoyed that so much. lol!
These "not me" offenses are wonderfully refreshing to read, Ange! You were starting to worry me with how organized and controlled you seem--especially with your homeschooling plans. Although I still know you're much more organized than I am, I now know you're at least human!
Thanks for the humor. Maybe we ARE truly related--I had to use some diaper-like creativity on our RV trip last week! Urgh!
My "not me" offenses these days are too numerous for me to think they're unusual anymore. I couldn't keep track of them all!
Wow you are hilarious! Love your post!
I'm so not jealous that you are friends with McKmama in real life! That would be so silly to be jealous of someone you've never met!!
Oh my lucky stars I LOVE the diaper one! I am so proud of you for *not* admitting it! I have done something similar with a diaper for myself, AND also used things that were NOT diapers in the place of diapers for the kids. Ahh, resourcefulness.
And your nice words about me, wow. Thanks, friend! And thanks again for the lovely playtime/visit/yummy lunch the other day!
And Doggie was successfully retrieved from church this morning!! Next stop: Big Mac's bedroom!
O.K....I don't feel so bad now that I know I am not the only one that sneaks candy. I usually hide in the pantry while eating what I tell the kids that can't have!
By the way - great minds think alike on our background!
Really?
Well...I did NOT forget Johnathan in the car AGAIN this week b/c I thought Tim was getting him and he thought I was getting him while we happily walked along with our other two children. Nope, not me, that would mean that he might end up being the forgotten youngest, I wouldn't want him to be labeled so young, so I didn't do that!
HA! I love her "did not monday" blog. I can't get that "did not" cool thing that she made on to my blog. Maybe I will try again next monday, but I just LOVE it! The things we do NOT do as mothers is hilarious and makes me feel like I am not so alone in this whole mothering thing...I too have fallen in love with her blog! What a wonderful "real life" friend you have!
The diaper thing by the way...hilarious!
This was beyond awesome--and the last one---sheer genius!! I would never have thought of doing that--awesome!!!!
Okay, so who do you want your heavenly mansion to be next to, Spurgeon or one of the Wesley brothers?
Blessings!
