(Snuggling in bed with my 3.5 year old son)
Me: Who's your favorite mommy in the whole world??
Alex: Daddy!!
Now, I know he loves me. He really does. But he is such a Daddy's boy! He is right at that age where life is all about Dad. And in many ways, I love that. I delight in the fact that they are close and that he admires his Daddy more than anything. It is precious to watch him look up to his Dad, follow him around and want to be just like, "Daddy." Everything from wanting to grow up to be big and strong "like Dad" (the only way I can convince him to eat his vegetables) to wanting his hair to be "just like Daddy's." He is a true Daddy's boy through and through. And, even though I'm not his favorite "mommy" in the world... right now Daddy is... I wouldn't have it any other way.

OH.MY.WORD, Angela!!! I SOOOOOO feel your pain! :-) My Caleb has said this EXACT same thing to me when I asked that EXACT same question!!!
He too is SO in love with his Daddy and wants to be like him in every way! And, I totally agree that I wouldn't have it any other way either. It is so special and wonderful to see that father/son relationship developing!
I know that even though he much prefers to be by Daddy and be with Daddy, he still loves me and is MY little boy too! The hugs, kisses, and cuddles when Daddy is not there still happen!! :-)
And he even dresses like Daddy! Very, very sweet!
This just reminded me of last weekend...
Because Jimmer wanted to wear a tie to church, he wanted Joe to wear one as well. Because it was sooooo hot here, I just couldn't put him in a long-sleeved shirt (although Joe did wear one), so Jimmer wore the only short-sleeved white shirt he has--a polo. The sides of the top "knot" part of his little clip on tie were sticking out plain as day, but he didn't care! He was waving it around so people would notice "how handsome" he was wearing a tie...just like Daddy! (Believe me, it was better than the plaid shirt and the striped tie he insisted on wearing for Christmas!)
Children are amazingly adorable when they're still so sweet and innocent!! (Melt, melt)
I love that they're even DRESSED the same in that picture!
And is that evidence of Mike fertilizing your lawn??? LOL!!!! Weren't we JUST talking about that!!! hahahaahaaaaaaaa!
Cute post!
He makes me smile in that picture! ;-)
I have the same thing going on here. it is so sweet and sad...
Both of my boys are ALL about Daddy. I thought they were supposed to want their Mommy more??? They would rather have (fun) Daddy do everything with them and for them. Less work for me, I guess. haha
