"Oh, Mommy- I love you, so, so, so much! You are the best Mommy in the whole world!"...
and just when I was reveling in that marvelous display of affection from my oldest daughter, she had to add...
"Sometimes, like today when you put Vinegar in my mouth for hitting Alex, I whisper under my breath, 'Mom's a butt' - but not now, Mommy- cause I love you so much."
Hmmm. I could have done without the admission of the "mom's a butt" thing- and although it put a bit of a damper on my feelings of elation at the hugs and declaration of love- I am glad to know that even though she occasionally thinks I'm a "butt"- she still thinks I'm the best mommy in the whole world.
Go figure.

Hello-- I stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say hello. I enjoy meeting other homeschool moms.- especially this time of year! :o}
This is cute... out of the mouth of babes,eh?
Amy
HA! That is really funny! The first time I gave Ellie Vineger for being sassy she looked me square in the face and said, "YUM! Can I have some more?" BLEH! We now use tabacoo sauce. As a matter of fact, I keep a mini one in my purse b/c just the sight of it is enough now and it got taken away at the airport and Ellie looked at the security guy and said, "Mommy gives that to me when I need a spanking on my tongue!" YIKES! So, maybe sometimes we are butt's! HA! Better to be a butt now then a...well something worse later!
The cool thing is that so many parents have such a hard time with discipline when their kids are young, but look, they DO still love us!
Oh hee hee, haha....
that kills me.
At least she told you,
I guess?
Thanks for sharing the funny.
THAT was too funny! Thanks for the chuckle...
Kids are so honest...and yes, even when they feel like we can be "mean" in our discipline (I have been told that before), they DO love us because they know that WE love THEM!!!
You are a great Mommy, Angela!
Too funny, Ange!
I don't think our kids would be so honest in saying something like that...but I know they think it! Ya gotta hand it to her for being honest! I'd rather hear what they're honestly thinking rather than wonder what they're keeping from me!
My computer is back. Wasn't all bad without it--just frustrating at times. We just finished a good week of schooling, so I guess that was the silver lining!
Ahhhhh, that was great!! At least she was fessing up. And vinegar. Good idea.
Tiff
That is funny :) Kids just tell it like it is, don't they!
And vinegar in the mouth?? Interesting..I may have to try that.
Oh, and I thought I had written you a comment about what a nice surprise it was to see you at church last week but now i'm not so sure i did! So, it was so nice to see you at church! Do you help out at Sunday school often?
I saw your husband today but not you...maybe next time!
