God's creation never ceases to amaze me. To the contrary, I think that the older I get, the greater appreciation I gain for God's creativity and the works of His hand.
We are very fortunate to have the Arboretum close by. It is a breathtakingly beautiful place to wander and explore. I love bringing the kids there.
Ariana is fascinated with water. Baths, lakes, sprinkler systems, faucets, little fish ponds...
While we lunched, we sat under a huge (what we agreed to be) Sycamore tree. We are trying to learn the different types of trees by their leaves. So far we've got the Maple Tree down- but we're working on expanding our knowledge database...
The kids found this to be, perhaps, the most exciting moment of our hike- when we discovered a common garden snake. Grace was so impressed, she included a drawing of it in her nature journal.
I love these girls.
These are the coolest chair. I wish we had some for our own backyard!

I totally agree--God's creation never ceases to amaze me either.
I am deathly afraid of snakes. Even the garden variety.
You and your kiddos need to come to the Pacific Northwest for some lovely hikes. Or a field trip to the coast!
What a fun day! Love the chair/hammock. Name that leaf/chair--oak, right?
Snakes have always given me the willies. Around here, I assume they're all poisonous since I don't stick around long enough to identify them! =)
What a fun time...I too just LOVE being in nature and seeing God's creation!!
Cute pictures, my friend! :-)
Do you go there often? Next time give me a call. We are heading there Tuesday next week. I LOVE it there. Agreed...it is such a great place practically in our backyard! The kids love it too! I am however stealing your idea of leaf collecting and learning what "trees" they belong to. What a great idea!
Love the pictures!! What a great and memorable time.
Oh how beautiful! I love the leaf chairs too...neat.
What a blessing to be so near such a beautiful place to visit.
The city we are moving to is much larger, and there will be many more opportunites for our children to explore.
