Since Mike had a late night flight last night, he had promised the kids before he left that although they wouldn't see him when he got home, he would make sure to come kiss them goodnight while they slept.
So as we were getting ready for bed, Grace was explaining to Alex how she was going to try really hard to keep her eyes open and stay awake so that she could see Daddy. Because, as she explained, "I really want to see him because I love him so, so, so, so much. More than anything in the world.... EVEN more than chocolate!" she declared with the most serious tone!
Yes- a girl after my own heart. When we start talking about chocolate as a measure of love- let me tell you- that is some serious stuff around here. We most certainly love our chocolate!

Ah, funny:)
And SOMEHOW, I forgot to mention in my last comment how VERY MUCH I love your new header!! Bravo!!
Oooh yeah...CHOCOLATE! Once again, Ange, we were thinking along the same lines today! I just posted some terribly chocolatey double chocolate brownies on my blog today. Great with a strong cup o'Jo! How does this happen with us? I think last time it was the bread thing!
BTW-our kids always want to wait up for Daddy also. They get so sad when he's not here to put them to bed.
Sounds like my Kylie Joy! Her favorite color is brown because it is the color of chocolate!!! :-)
Sounds like your Grace is a girl after MY own heart as well!!! :-)
I too love your new header! I still haven't figured out how to do something creative like that!!! Love it!
That IS serious love, isn't it? :) So, did Grace keep her beautiful eyes open long enough to SEE her Daddy? Or, did Daddy's flight get delayed coming in, like Andy's flight got delayed going out! He sat on the runway for over 2 hours and said it was the scariest takeoff he's ever experienced.
Sorry I wasn't at MOPS today. Seriously, I'm so bummed. The weather forecast wasn't sounding good at all, so I didn't feel comfortable driving such a long distance. Turns out, I shouldn't have been so worried! I hope you had a great morning and I look forward to catching up with you soon, I hope!
That is deep love!
That is so cute...I always wonder if the kids miss me as much as their daddy at bedtime :) Hey, if you ever want a play date at playworks or here for that matter - send me an email!
